A Local Social Club Raising Money For Local People

A Gathering Of Some Of Our History Walk Characters

The Beccles Helping Hands Committee is chaired by J. Wright and usually meets once a month. We raise money by organising various events such as the popular "Ghost Walk" and the fascinating "Step Back In Time" Beccles History Walk. Both walks feature all sorts of weird and wonderful happenings with colourful characters along the way. Great fun can also be had at our indoor events including the conkers championship, skittles, concerts, horse racing and quizes.

All money raised is donated to local individuals & local organisations.

LIVING HISTORY WALK BRILLIANT

I went on the Beccles Helping Hands Living History Walk on Saturday, May 30 and I thought it was brilliant.

The lady who took us round was very informative and all the characters we met as we walked round the town were enthusiastic, talented, funny and realistic.

Beccles is a lovely town with an interesting and vibrant history. All the people involved with these tours can be very proud of themselves for doing such a good job of bringing Beccles history to life.

I can thoroughly recommend these walks to appeal to everyone. Well done.

Our objective is to provide financial aid for local people and organisations in Beccles and surrounding villages. This will include:

a) Disabled and disadvantaged individuals resident in the area.

b) Any local organisation benefitting the community.

c) Responding to any local appeals for financial aid that the committee deems worthy.

Financial donations have assisted individuals in the purchase of specialist equipment and aided organisations such as Beccles Hospital, Waveney Hospice Care, ICANHO (Suffolk Brain Injury Rehab Centre), Beccles 1st Response Ambulance Unit, The Horse Rescue Fund at Toft Monks, The Waveney Stardust and Beccles 1st Brownies.
