A Local Social Club Raising Money For Local People

The Beccles Helping Hands Committee is chaired by J. Wright and meets once a month in the function room in the Bear and Bells Public House in Beccles. We raise money by organising various events such as the popular "Ghost Walk" and the fascinating "Step Back In Time" our Beccles History Walk. Both walks feature all sorts of weird and wonderful happenings with colourful characters along the way. Great fun can also be had at our indoor events including the conkers championship, skittles, concerts, horse racing and quizes. We produce our celebrated local calendar which for 2008 features the lovely pictures of Beccles & the surrounding area painted by the celebrated local artist Joe Crowfoot. Our sincere thanks to Joe for his continued support of Beccles Helping Hands.

All money raised is donated to local individuals & local organisations.

Our objective is to provide financial aid for local people and organisations in Beccles and surrounding villages. This will include:

a) Disabled and disadvantaged individuals resident in the area.

b) Any local organisation benefitting the community.

c) Responding to any local appeals for financial aid that the committee deems worthy.

Financial donations have assisted individuals in the purchase of specialist equipment and aided organisations such as Beccles Hospital, Waveney Hospice Care, ICANHO (Suffolk Brain Injury Rehab Centre), Beccles 1st Response Ambulance Unit, The Horse Rescue Fund at Toft Monks and Beccles 1st Brownies.
